Bicycles will not be permitted on CTA trains for most of the day, and strollers and carts must be folded before boarding all CTA buses and trains.
Non-uniformed officers are still allowed to participate in the Toronto march with community groups, the city or their own group.
A similar gay pride parade in 2014 drew tens of thousands of people and was one of the largest pro-LGBTI events in the mainly Muslim region.
According to AFP, officers arrested at least 12 people, including a photographer who works for the French news agency, for rioting.
In 2016, the march was banned by the Governor's Office as Turkey saw attacks claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) or the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
"I think we move forward from this, and I think there will tough conversations to be had after Pride is done", she said.

According to Reuters, the group Alperen Hearths threatened to shut down the march if city officials didn't stop it. "I'm sure that love will win".

City Hall will also be lit up with rainbow lighting from Friday night through Sunday night, and rainbow flags will fly outside, the mayor's office said.
And that hole will not be filled just because the prime minister, premier and mayor will be there.
