GAMES GIANT EA has changed the rules around unlocking Star Wars characters after a massive online backlash. For hardcore fans, that's worth the cost.
StarCraft 2 continues the saga of the Protoss, Terran and Zerg. Some Redditers were so enraged that they threatened to cancel their preorders and boycott the game entirely.
It was calculated and confirmed that heroes like Darth Vader would take approximately 40 hours of dedicated play time to earn through in-game credits.
EA also received heavy criticism for its first iteration of the Battlefront series, with players complaining that content released after the game's launch was too expensive. For whatever reason, the game maker seems to have thought that dropping the refund cancellation could shift the wind in their direction.
Back to the good stuff. EA have to pay for this monster of a game and the price of admission isn't going to cover the marketing budget, much less production.
Is this the lightsaber game you've dreamed of?
Shivansh And can I ask why is that? EA must be hoping the same.
This is a setup for hardcore fans. You either fork over the credits for them, or you don't get to play as them.
Spoilers ahead for Star Wars Battlefront II. The video was made public on the YouTube channel GameSpot. They are "looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis", we can only wait and see. But as a vanguard for the growing influence of microtransactions in £50/$60 games, it marrs its own package by tying an already confused levelling system with an over-reliance on purchased loot.
