Matt Ryan tossed a 6-yard touchdown pass to Devonta Freeman to give the Atlanta Falcons a 10-6 lead over the Eagles with 5:41 left in the second quarter. The drive started at the Philadelphia 18-yard line because Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman made contact with the ball on an Atlanta punt, setting up the Falcons in prime field position.
The game was coming down to this last drive by the Falcons, starting at their own 24-yard line the Falcons began their drive to try to take the lead late in the game. At this point, the Eagles were up 12-10 with 11 seconds left in the third quarter.
Neither team could find their way into the end zone in the second half, however two field goals from Philadelphia kicker Jake Elliott proved the difference as the Eagles took a 15-10 win to move into the NFC championship.
The Eagles report that rookie cornerback Sidney Jones will be among the inactive players for today's playoff game against the Falcons. "I ended up on the ground when I came out of the route", Jones said, not faulting the official for not making any sort of call after making contact with Jalen Mills.
Even though the Falcons are on the road, they are favored against the Eagles. It'd be stunning to see the Patriots lose, considering New England has been favored to win the 2018 Super Bowl for just about the whole season.
The Eagles can help take some of the pressure off Foles with a heavy dose of Jay Ajayi.
"I think we heard it loud enough from enough people", safety Malcolm Jenkins said.
On offense, former Austin Westlake quarterback Nick Foles managed the game well after a slow start, finishing 23-of-30 for 246 yards. Philadelphia, the top seed in the NFC, advances and will host the winner of the Saints-Vikings game Sunday in Minneapolis.
Doug Pederson coached one heck of a game. The Falcons were able to limit their opponents to less than 20 points six times in 2017.

Obviously, the line for this game is almost entirely related to the Eagles' quarterback situation.
In the second quarter, the Eagles scored a touchdown on a one yard run from LeGarrette Blunt. While they kept the ball moving and helped build confidence for Foles, the biggest benefit was on the clock.
The gameplan was to run, run, and run some more to wear the Falcons defense down.
But Brady insisted that didn't alter his approach - or his satisfaction in the win. The Philadelphia defense will have to step up and somehow contain a loaded Atlanta offense if Philly is to have a chance.
