Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ Could Come With 'Intelligent Scan' Feature

Labelled as Intelligent Scan, it combines both facial and iris scanning to improve accuracy and security. It seems Samsung is packing a new recognition feature on both of its to-be-unveiled phones, and it looks like the South Korean electronics company's answer to Apple's iPhone X Face ID. For more details, we will have to wait until Samsung officially unveils the smartphones on February 25. Friday, March 16 could well be a hint to the official Samsung Galaxy S9 release date. As per the reports, Y-OCTA will allow the company to place the touch sensor directly on the flexible OLED layer.

Like the S8, this new flagship's screen looks set to cover almost the entire front of the phone.

Regarding display, both the phone are expected to feature QHD+ Super AMOLED displays. Afterwards, no sign of the facial recognition technology appeared in any rumors of Galaxy S9.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to come up with a screen size of 5.8-inch which is identical to its predecessor Galaxy S8. As it can be seen in the video, whether it is day or night, it will identify the face while the iris scanned simultaneously.

Max Weinbach over at SamCentral has come across some string of codes in the APK of Samsung's Settings app in the unreleased Android Oreo beta for Galaxy Note8 which has revealed this new feature.

However, what we don't know are the phones' availability and pricing. A tweet from Evan Blass also suggests that Samsung took the traditional route when it comes to the design of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. And as draw closer to the launch date, more information regarding the smartphones emerge online.

Samsung has usually been quick to launch its flagships in India after unveiling them internationally. Further, the component also reveals that Samsung has finally listened to its users and has placed the fingerprint sensor beneath the camera module, which makes it easier to unlock the smartphone.

Dbrand has started taking pre-orders for skins and wraps for the Galaxy S9 series.
