Stephen Hawking defied death in 1960s, recalls Jayant Narlikar

Richard Green, of the Motor Neurone Disease Association - the British name for ALS - said Hawking met the classic definition of the disease, as "the perfect mind trapped in an imperfect body".

Hawking, the theoretical physicist and cosmologist author, died Wednesday at the age of 76. He was initially depressed over his ALS diagnosis but he decided that there were goals he wanted to accomplish in his lifetime and so he began to study and work harder than ever before. "In short, the rise of powerful AI will be either the best, or the worst thing ever to happen to humanity". "We simply need to be aware of the dangers, identify them, employ the best possible practice and management, and prepare for its consequences well in advance".

Thousands have since paid tribute to the world-renowned physicist after his family announced the heartbreaking news. Recognising his brilliance, they duly gave him a first.

In 1988, Hawking published his book titled A Brief History of Time, in which he explains the idea behind cosmology, black holes, and the big bang.

By that time he had acquired a reputation for challenging authority.

The tweet said: 'In loving memory of Stephen Hawking.

It mirrored the central pillar of his life's work - linking together the apparently irreconcilable laws of general relativity and quantum mechanics in his theories about black holes.

Tech solutions, all of which are part of everyday 21st century life, are used to overcome physical limitations imposed by functional disabilities. "I trust that in death you have fulfilled your life's ambition, to know the mind of God". And while Dawkins is a longtime professor at the University of Oxford, Hawking was born in the English city. His lectures were fantastic, though very technical.

CERN's head of theoretical physics Gian Giudice says Hawking's work had a "great impact" on research at the organization. "Our loss of the most intelligent person must be a wake up call for young scientists to aspire greatness", said 'Kaan Callidi, Year 11 student at GEMS Wellington Academy, Al Khail. "It belongs to one exceptional family". "So if you feel you are in a black hole, don't give up - there's a way out".

However difficult life may seem there is always something you can do and succeed

There are two types of ALS: sporadic, which is most common, and familial.

In the first leg of the tour in Mumbai, Hawking addressed an international physics seminar at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

So there never was a Big Bang that created something from nothing.

"We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star". I have traveled the world, from the Antarctic to zero gravity. Hawking was well-regarded by his scientific peers but also explained his thoughts in ways that make sense to everyone else.

So-called assistive technologies provide a means for people to move from place to place, to eat independently, to see and hear what they can't otherwise perceive. I'm not afraid of death, but I'm in no hurry to die. People usually find out that they have it between 55 and 75 years of age.

In Stephen Hawking's case add a healthy dose of guts. This switch is my only interface with the computer.
