T-Mobile has said that it'll launch the LG G7 ThinQ "later this spring". LG G7 ThinQ offers 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with 64GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, while the LG G7+ ThinQ offers 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, the internal storage can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. It's believed that the button on the side will activate Google Assistant, the search giant's virtual personal assistant. For those who are unaware, Google Lens uses a computer vision to identify landmarks, plants, animals and books in order to show related results. Yes, LG has joined the notch train. The rest of the features are same on both the variants.
One of the images shows a gray version of the smartphone, complete with a vertically aligned dual-lens camera array.
A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is also available with the phone. It also packs a Hi-Fi Quad DAC.
Inside, the LG G7 ThinQ is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
The LG G7 ThinQ is strongly focused on the fundamentals and its launch marks a new chapter for our company.
Thankfully, both of these phones preserve the 3.5mm headphone port. Phew. LG claims that the smartphone comes with AI functionality. The secondary sensor comes with 107° field-of-view.
The front camera houses an 8 megapixel sensor. LG has also enhanced the AI features of the camera that first debuted in the LG V30S ThinQ. The device also comes with loaded with the Google Lens, a feature that we first saw on the Pixel range. If you don't like the notch, you can "hide" under settings for a more traditional looking display.
No other specifications were available on the LG website.
Another change which LG made after years is the power button placement. The biometric sensor is still on the rear. There's also IP68 dust and water resistance, and it's also MIL-STD 810G compliant for better durability. For one, the device comes with what is called a 'Boombox Speaker', which essentially uses the inner space as a resonance chamber to "amp up the bass and deliver a premium, loud and room-filling audio experience". Users need to hold down the button to start a conversation with Google Assistant. The AI helper can also be summoned by voice, even at a distance, without talking directly into the device, LG said.
